How to Print a Label on a Disk
Printing your own labels on a disk is a good way to keep track of CDs and DVDs that you have created. Your disks may contain recorded memorable events, photos and even your favorite music. But it can be hard to keep track of what's on each one. Making labels for them will allow you locate what you're looking for without having to pop a disk into a CD or DVD player to find out what's on it. You could even label them by event, year, music genre or however you choose. With a computer, printer and basic knowledge of how to use a computer keyboard, you can easily make your own disk labels.

- Disk printing computer program
- Printer
- Disk label printing paper

Open a desktop publishing, word processing or Web-based program capable of creating and printing disk labels. If you don't have label-printing software installed on your computer and don't have access to the Internet, purchase a printing program. Electronic and office supply stores that sell computers are good sources for this type of software.

Launch a blank document for creating disk labels.

Enter the text that you want to appear on your label. Use your centering and text alignment tools to position text where you want it to appear. If more than one label is showing on the computer screen, make sure the text you are entering only appears on the disk label you are working on and doesn't spill over onto another label.

Obtain self-adhesive disk printer paper. This too can be purchased from office supply and electronic stores.

Load the printer with the disk printer paper so that the text prints right side up and not on the adhesive side.

Print out your label, peel and attach it to your disk.
