How to Export Songs in "Rock Band"
Export songs from your original "Rock Band" disc to sequel "Rock Band 2" so you can have all your songs available in one game. As of 2010, it costs $5 to import 55 of the original game's songs to "Rock Band 2." Importing the songs allows you to play all tracks from "Rock Band" and "Rock Band 2" without changing the discs.

Export "Rock Band" songs on PlayStation 3

Start up your PlayStation 3 game system. Select the PlayStation Network store if you're using a PlayStation 3.

Select the "Disc-Based Game Add-Ons" option from the PlayStation Network Store.

Select "Rock Band" from the list that appears.

Select "Song Export Key" from the "Rock Band Add-Ons" menu.

Purchase and download the key.

Insert the "Rock Band" game disc and start the game as normal.

Select "Export Songs" from the "Rock Band" main menu. You will be required to enter the code found in your "Rock Band 2" game manual.

Wait as the songs are exported to your PlayStation 3 hard drive. Remove the "Rock Band" disc and insert the "Rock Band 2" disc when the export has finished.
Export "Rock Band" Songs on Xbox 360

Start up your Xbox 360 Console and insert the Rock Band game disc.

Follow the on-screen prompt telling you a new update is available.

Allow the update to download by selecting "OK."

Insert the "Rock Band" game disc and start playing as normal. Select "Export Songs" from the main menu, which will trigger an on-screen prompt telling you that it will cost 400 Microsoft Points to export the songs. You will be required to enter the code found in your "Rock Band 2" game manual.

Select "OK" to confirm the purchase and export the songs. Wait as the songs are exported to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive. Remove the "Rock Band" disc and insert the "Rock Band 2" disc when the export has finished.

Tips & Warnings
You cannot export songs from the Nintendo Wii version of "Rock Band."
The codes found in the "Rock Band 2" manual can only be used on one console, so don't attempt this with a used copy of "Rock Band 2."
