How to Avoid a Bypass Proxy

A bypass proxy is a server that is created specifically to get around your network server to browse websites that have been blacklisted by your company or academic institution. As an administrator, may want to avoid a bypass proxy to ensure that your employers or students are not able to visit websites that are either inappropriate or distracting. Note that you will need administrator's rights to perform this task.

      Log in to a system administrator's computer, also known as a server computer in some organizations.

      Click the "Start" menu, and select "Control Panel." Click to switch to "Classic View."

      Double-click "Internet Options."

      Click the "Connections" tab. Click the button labeled "LAN Settings."

      Single-click to remove the check mark next to "Bypass proxy server for local addresses."

      Click "OK," and then select "Apply" to end task.
