How to Get an Emergency Message to an Inmate at the Norco State Prison
The California Rehabilitation Center, also known as Norco or Norco Prison, is a medium level II prison and rehabilitation center located in Norco, California. As of 2010, the facility contains approximately 5,000 inmates who are serving time for felonies and severe addiction. The mission of the California Rehabilitation Center is to treat inmates and return them to society while protecting the public. Even though the Norco Prison is a rehabilitation center, employees must follow the guidelines of any California state prison. The guidelines allow inmates to receive messages of an emergency nature.

Call the California Rehabilitation Center at 915-737-2683.

Inform the officer that you have an emergency message for an inmate. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDRC) defines an emergency as a serious illness, accident or death involving an immediate family member.

State the inmate's name and CDRC number.

Relay the emergency message and leave a callback number. The officer will attempt to verify the emergency. If the officer deems the situation as an emergency, he will forward the message to a chaplain or correctional counselor. The chaplain or correctional counselor will forward the message to the inmate.

Receive a phone call from the inmate. Depending on the severity of the message, the officers may permit the inmate a phone call. The chaplain or correctional counselor will monitor the call. The inmate must call collect or deduct the amount of the call from his trust account.

Tips & Warnings
If the nature of the emergency does not comply with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation definition of an emergency, you must notify the inmate through the mail. Non-emergency messages will not be forwarded to the inmate.
