How to Overcome the Preference to Prejudice
Prejudice can be defined as "any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable." Almost everyone has prejudices. However, at its worst, prejudice can lead to confrontation and violence. Teaching children to avoid making prejudiced and biased opinions is important. However, sometimes adults forget to do this. Overcoming the preference to prejudice is important for children and adults.

1
Get to know someone before judging them. Spend some time talking to them before making judgments. Do not judge a person because of gender, ethnicity, or other physical characteristics.
-
2
Learn about cultures and countries other than your own. Read books or watch programs about the beliefs and practices of other cultures.
-
-
3
Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Before you do or say something mean to someone, ask yourself "How would I feel if someone said or did that to me?"
-
4
Defend someone who is being judged. Do not join in if someone is making prejudiced remarks about another person.
-
5
Learn to tolerate differences in beliefs. It is impossible for everyone to agree on everything.
