RealPlayer Won't Show a CD's Information When Downloading
As is the case with similar programs such as iTunes, Winamp and Windows Media Player, you can use RealPlayer to rip CDs and import them into your personal music library. By default, RealPlayer will read and import information from a CD--such as artist, album and song title--alongside the music files themselves. If your RealPlayer isn't importing this information correctly (or at all), you will need to troubleshoot it to ascertain whether the player or CD is causing the problem.

1
Check whether or not your CD is official, or at least in its official order. For example, if you attempt to rip a mix CD of random artists and songs, RealPlayer will only be able to cross-reference the tracks on your CD using their running times. On the other hand, it will have an easier time identifying a burned CD that is an exact copy of an actual album--in other words, one in the correct order and with the correct number of songs. This being said, it will not necessarily recognize a burned CD at all, so if you're not using a store-bought CD, this alone could be the reason for the failure.

Try and replicate the error using another program. Depending on whether you use a Windows or Mac machine, your system's default media player will be Windows Media Player or iTunes, respectively. Insert the CD into your computer's optical drive, then import using either of these programs--in Windows Media Player, you'll click the "Import to Music Library" button, whereas you'll need to highlight the songs and drag them into your music library in iTunes. If the CD's information displays in either of these programs but not in RealPlayer, you can be sure the problem lies in RealPlayer.

Reconfigure your RealPlayer's "firewall" settings to allow a free flow of information. If you have determined that your CD is not the cause of your information error, the issue likely lies in your computer's firewall. Drop-down RealPlayer's "Tools" menu, then click "Preferences." Click the "Connections" tab, then move your mouse over the "Category" pane and tick the "Manually Configure Connection Settings" box. Click the "RTSP Settings" button, tick the box next to "Attempt to Use TCP For All Content" and click "OK." Click the "PNA Settings" button and repeat the same procedure. Click "OK" within the "Preferences" dialog box to make your changes permanent.

Contact your network administrator if your problems are occurring on a corporate or school network. He may have purposely disabled computers on the network from being able to transmit certain information and need to re-enable it for your computer--or, in some cases, he may choose not to for network security reasons.
