How to Make a Tinkerbell Bedroom

You can create a woodland scene in your room to make Tinkerbell feel at home.

Tinkerbell has become one of the most beloved Walt Disney related characters since her debut in the 1953 animated feature, Peter Pan. Her feisty personality and lovable antics have endeared to her children and adults of all ages. Because of her widespread appeal, she can be used as theme for decorating a room for people of all ages. With just a little time and effort, you can decorate your own Tinkerbell themed bedroom.

Things You'll Need

• Wall paint
• Chalk
• Acrylic paint
• Spray glue
• Glitter
• Crystals
• Fishing line
• Sheer fabric
• Pictures
• Picture frames

Instructions

1. Paint the walls. Choose a base color, such as a pale green or beige, and paint your walls a solid color. Once your base coat is dry, use chalk to draw a woodland forest on your walls. Draw tree trunks, stumps, grass, flowers and vines. Use acrylic paints to fill in the drawn design. Once the paint is dry, use a damp cloth to wipe away the chalk.

2. Paint your ceiling a pale blue. This will give the feeling of the sky. If desired, you can use white paint to add clouds to your ceiling.

3. Apply spray glue to your walls in a random trailing pattern. Sprinkle glitter on the walls where the glue trail is. This will represent the fairy dust that Tinkerbell uses to help others fly.

4. Hang crystals in different shapes and colors from pieces of fishing line. Hang the crystals from windows and your ceiling. This will give the illusion of Tinkerbell when she is just a flash of light.

5. Hang sheer fabrics for your window coverings. Choose colors that match your color scheme.

6. Frame pictures of Tinkerbell and her friends, such as Iridessa or Peter Pan. Hang these pictures around the room or place them on bookshelves or dressers. When choosing frames, look for natural wood.

Tips & Warnings

• For your furniture, you can either use a natural wood or a white painted furniture set. White furniture can be hand painted with green vines or small flowers using acrylic paints. Another option is to look for rustic wood sets that look like they are constructed out of tree limbs or tree trunks, with the bark still on.

• Another decorating option is to place fairy wings around the room. These can be found at costume shops and can be hung directly on the wall.
