The Linksys WRTG54G router can be configured to act as a wireless repeater. Using your router as a wireless repeater can extend the range of your wireless signal. To configure the router in this way, first access the router's configuration interface to get your router's MAC address.

      Open your Internet browser. Type "192.168.1.1" into your browser's address bar and press "Enter."

      Log in to your router with the administrator's user name and password (it is essential that you're logged on as an administrator, to complete this task).

      Click "Status" and select "Wireless." Locate the MAC address and make note of it.

      Select "AP Mode" and click "Wireless Repeater."

      Type your router's MAC address into the "LAN MAC Address" field. There is no need to type the colons (:) when entering the MAC address.

      Click the "Save Settings" button and exit the browser.
