How to Enable BlackBerry Maps
BlackBerry Maps is a way for you to easily use your GPS-enabled phone. With Maps, you can plan a trip or route, sends different maps through your email to your friends or even bookmark your favorite maps to always have them a touch away. If you have BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 or later (see Tips), you can simply click on "Maps" from your BlackBerry Home screen to get started. However, if you have an earlier version of the Device Software, you'll need to first download Maps to enable it on your phone.

Visit the BlackBerry website from your computer (see Resources).

Scroll to the bottom of the BlackBerry homepage, and hold your cursor over the "Company" to open the drop menu.

Click "Why BlackBerry."

Select "Smartphone Features" from the tool bar on the left side of the screen.

Click "BlackBerry Maps" from the menu that appears within Smartphone Features.

Click the "Download It Today" button, located below the title Download through your BlackBerry Browser.

Enter in your email address that's configured with your BlackBerry phone inside the box that reads "<Enter Email Address Here>." Click "Submit." After a few minutes, an email will be sent to your phone.

Open the email from your phone, and click on the link that's provided in the email. This will take you to the BlackBerry site on your phone to properly download Maps. Click "Download" from the website on your phone, and allow several minutes for the application to properly install.

Open "Maps" from your Home screen to enable to application and get started.

Tips & Warnings
To see what version of BlackBerry Device Software you have, navigate to your Home screen, then press "Options > About." The third line on the information screen will tell you what version of software you have.
