How to Set Up a Secure Proxy Server in Ubuntu Linux

If you need to connect to the Internet through a proxy server when you go online with your Ubuntu Linux machine, you can set up Ubuntu to connect to the Internet through the secure proxy server. This requires that you have the connection information for the proxy server on hand so you can enter it in to the operating system and configure it properly.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Ubuntu computer.

2. Open the "System" menu.

3. Click the "Preferences" button.

4. Open the "Network Proxy" section.

5. Select "Manual proxy configuration" and type in the address, port and login information for the secure proxy server.

6. Click "Close" to save the settings and complete the setup.
