Fender decals can liven up your motorcycle's style.

A custom paint job is not the only way to embellish the look of your motorcycle. Vinyl decals offer an economical alternative to give your bike the look you want without having to shell out hundreds -- or even thousands -- of dollars. The designs and colors available to choose from are vast. Some companies will even make customized graphics to fit your specific bike while also providing the style you like.

Instructions

    • 1

Use isopropyl alcohol to wet a paper towel and thoroughly clean the entire portion of your fenders on your motorcycle. Clean the area of any dust, bugs or other substances, as these things will affect the end result of your decals. Let the alcohol dry entirely before you continue.

    • 2

Measure the portion of the fender where you will be applying the decal so it is even. Center the decal from left to right and top to bottom on the fender. If you are placing a corresponding decal on the opposite fender, measure it in the same manner as the first fender.

    • 3

Remove the decal from its backing paper without allowing it to fold over onto itself or to touch any other surface. Line up the graphic according to the measurements you made, and slowly place the sticker in place. Use a squeegee to smooth out the decal as you place it. This will help stretch the vinyl sticker over curves on the fender and will help prevent bubbles from forming.

    • 4

Rub the decal completely flat using both your fingers and a squeegee. Begin in the middle, and work your way out toward the edges, pushing any bubbles out as you go.
