How to Apply 1980s Style Make Up
Makeup in 1980s could be described as bright and bold. Popular music icons such as Madonna and Cyndi Lauper further popularized the bright-and-bold makeup trend. Bright-blue eyeshadow and fuchsia lipstick in particular were popular during the '80s. Today, such extreme-looking makeup usually is reserved for special occasions such as Halloween. Wash your face with a facial cleanser. Pat dry with a towel and apply facial moisturizer with your fingers.

Apply foundation to your skin using a makeup sponge. Cover any unevenness or blemishes. Brush on a face powder with a large makeup brush to set the foundation and create a matte look.

Apply pale pink eyeshadow to your entire eyelid up to your eyebrows. Use a small makeup brush to apply the eyeshadow. Repeat on other lid.

Apply white eyeshadow under the arch of your eyebrow. Use a small makeup brush to apply the eyeshadow. Repeat on the other eyebrow.

Apply bright-blue eyeshadow to both of your eyelids. Use a small makeup brush to apply the eyeshadow. Apply the eyeshadow just past the crease of your eyelids. You want to apply the eyeshadow above your crease so it can be seen when your eyes are open.

Line your eyes using a teal eyeliner. Take the eyeliner pencil and trace around the base of your upper and lower eyelashes. Do not poke your eye.

Use an eyebrow pencil to define your eyebrows. Use the pencil to lightly color in where your natural eyebrows are.

Apply a blush or bronzer to cheeks. Suck in your cheeks. Use a large makeup brush to apply the blush or bronzer to the cheekbone.

Apply a coat of fuchsia lipstick. Add clear lip gloss if desired.
