How to Disable SMART Tools on Startup for a Mac

Save

If your Apple Mac is taking longer to start than you think it should, it may be because you have too many programs launching when you boot up the computer. In Mac OS X, you can easily check the login programs from your System Preferences. From here you can remove SMART Tools or any other applications that may be slowing down your Apple Mac computer.

  • Click the Apple logo on the task bar. Then click "System Preferences."

  • Click "My Account."

  • Click your name from the "Accounts" list.

  • Click "Login Items."

  • Click the check box to deselect "SMART Tools" from the list. You can also remove any other applications you wish to remove from the startup process. Close the "Accounts" preferences window when you are done.
