How to Display Jewelry for Outdoor Craft Events
Selling hand-crafted jewelry at an outdoor craft event is one way to build your home-based jewelry business. Create jewelry displays that draw your customer's eye and invite them to step over to take a closer look. Lighted display cases can highlight your jewelry designs. Decorative string lights add a festive atmosphere to your booth or display table, even in daylight. Make your own display cards for earrings, rings and bracelets; make custom hangers for necklace designs.

1
Drape decorative string lights around your table and inside your booth. The lights help your display stand out in a crowd; colored lights work best on a sunny day, but white lights work well outdoors on a cloudy day.

2
Create a lighted necklace display by stacking two glass craft blocks filled with battery powered string lights. Attach self-adhesive, removable interlocking strip hooks onto the top rim of the top block. Hang necklaces from the hooks so that they fall over the faces of the two lighted blocks. Smaller necklaces may fit over a single glass block.

Cut card stock to make display cards for your earrings, bracelets and rings. A 3-by-3, 3-by-4 or 3-by-5 card works for just about any type of small jewelry display. Punch holes in the center of the cards to thread a bracelet, or pierce the cards with the earring wires to hang earrings. Tie thin ribbon to rings; thread them through two holes in the center of the card. Add a label with your contact information somewhere on the card for repeat business.

4
Make a copper tubing tree to display necklaces and bracelets. Cut five 4-foot lengths of soft tubing, gather them together and wrap copper wire around the bundle, 8 inches from one end. Spread the individual tubes out from the wire along the 8-inch section to make a stand for the tree. Bend and twist the long sections of each tube to make branches. Glue rhinestones or flat-backed cabochons onto the branches with clear waterproof adhesive to make stoppers for the jewelry. Hang the jewelry from the branches.

5
Make small hang tags for each necklace or bracelet that you do not attach to a card. Hang tags can be up to 1-by-2-inches long. Include your contact information. Attach the tags to the jewelry clasp using string.
