Different parts of the world use different units for measuring length. The foot is a common unit used in the United States while the meter is more common in most of the remainder of the world. For example, most Americans list their height in feet but Europeans would list their height in meters or centimeters. In order to get a good picture of how tall someone is in another unit, you need to convert. When converting, you can use conversion factors.
Things You'll Need
Divide 2.5 meters by 0.3048 meters per foot to find 2.5 meters equals 8.2 feet.
Multiply 2.5 meters by 3.28 feet per meter to confirm your answer of 8.2 feet.
Confirm your answer using an online calculator to make sure you did the math correctly (see Resources).
