To obtain a North Carolina Marriage license, you and your significant other will need to appear in person, together to the Register of Deeds office in any North Carolina county. If you are under the age of 21 you must present your birth certificate and if you are under 18 you must have parental consent. The cost for the marriage license in North Carolina is $50. You and your intended spouse will be required to sign the license before leaving the office. The license is valid for up to 60 days. You must have the license with you at the ceremony. The officiant and two witnesses must sign the certificate immediately after the ceremony, and the officiant will mail it back to the Register of Deeds.

      Find an officiant. Once you have rented your cabin, you need to find an officiant for the wedding. Some cabin rental companies specialize in cabin weddings and can provide wedding services including the officiant. If not, you can easily find an officiant that will come to your cabin and perform your ceremony online. The Reverend Victoria Hutchins for example, has a website listing the services she offers. She performs weddings wherever the couple would like, including their rental cabin. She also offers elopement wedding packages, that include music, flowers, witnesses, certificate and photo CD. When you do find an officiant, they are typically paid a deposit and then the balance on the wedding day.
