Instructions

    • 1

Launch a word processing or desktop publishing program that allows you to insert text and images. Most computers will have this type of program already installed.

    • 2

Create a new document and enter a title for your award certificate at the top of the page. Standard choices include "Certificate of Achievement," "Certificate of Appreciation," or "Academic Award."

    • 3

Center the certificate title. Highlight the text and click on the "centering" icon on the toolbar to center the text.

    • 4

Skip three lines and type "Awarded to" followed by a line long enough to enter a name. Center this text along with the line.

    • 5

Drop down three lines and type "Presented by" followed by a line for the presenter's signature. Highlight this and click the flush-left icon on the toolbar to set this text on the left side of the page.

    • 6

Type the word "Date" on the same line as "Presented by" and add a short line for the award date. Highlight this with your mouse and align it on the right side of the page.

    • 7

Insert award images on the page wherever you want them to appear. Standard award images include achievement ribbons, trophies and medals.

    • 8

Save your document and print out as many award certificates as you need.
