How to Create a Graphics Layout for Neopets
Graphic layouts have several different functions on Neopets -- they are used for user lookups, shop layouts and guild layouts. A successful layout is original and creative. The upside of creating your own layout rather than using a premade one is that it can look any way you want it to. If you are an officer in a guild and are given the task of creating new guild layouts, it is vital to learn how to make an original layout. In fact, it is helpful to know even if you just want to update your user lookup.

Find an image that you wish to use as your main background image. If it is a picture of an Ixi Plushie, save the image of the plushie and open it in your image-editing software program. Adjust the length and width of the image by clicking "Image" and then "Image Size" from the drop-down menu. The dimensions of the picture will be the size of your layout.

Create boxes for your shop, user lookup or guild info by clicking the Rectangle tool on the left side of the image-editing software. Make as many boxes as you wish for your layout -- this is where information about the guild, guild contests, prizes, games, store discounts and the like will be. Don't make so many that the background image gets lost, however.

Fill the boxes with information by clicking on the Text icon on the left. Make sure that the text is visible against the box; you can change the text color on the top bar. Adjust the text font by choosing a font from the drop-down Font list. This will finish your Neopets graphic layout. Save the image; you can open it in your image-editing software to make any adjustments or change the information.

Sign on to Neopets and go to the edit section in your shop, guild or user lookup. Open your layout in the picture section on your computer. Copy the code <IMG SRC="image.gif" ALT="some text" WIDTH=32 HEIGHT=32> into the "about me" section in your guild, shop, or lookup.

Right-click on your saved picture and open "properties." Near the bottom is an HTML code for the Folder Path; copy it and paste it into the "some text" portion of the HTML above. Adjust the height and width to your desired dimensions. Save the HTML and go to your shop, guild or lookup front to see the finished product.

Open the "edit shop, guild, or lookup" section again to make any adjustments.
