Instructions

  1. Spring bar-Mounted Leather Bands

    • 1

Remove the old band from the watch. Use the forked end of the spring bar tool to push the spring bar out of position. Place it against the bar, in between the strap and the case lug -- the part of the watch that the bar attaches to. Gently slide the band off the bar to avoid scratching the watch or losing the bar.

    • 2

Put the new strap on the bar and position one end of the bar in the depression in the watch. Use the spring bar tool to push the bar inward slightly, making it shorter. Position the other end of the bar in the other depression on that side of the watch. Once it is in the correct place, release the spring bar and it should snap into place.

    • 3

Repeat step one and two for the other section of the band and your watchband is repaired.

    Screwed-on Bands

    • 4

Use your screwdriver to loosen the screw. Your screwdriver should match the size of the screw or it may damage the screw or watch. Some bands may have two screws holding them on; use two screwdrivers to undo both. Once the screw is loose, remove the fastening carefully to avoid losing the pieces.

    • 5

Place the strap on the pin and position on the watch. Tighten the screw to attach the band.

    • 6

Repeat on the other side to complete the replacement. If the band has two pins, remember to tighten the second screw on both sides.

    Flash Interchangeability Bands

    • 7

Turn the watch upside down to remove the band. If you set the watch down, place it on a soft cloth to avoid scratching the watch face.

    • 8

Locate the interchangeable pin holding the band on and push it toward the center. The interchangeable pin on this type of watch is a protruding piece on the reverse of the band. Pushing it toward the center will release the catch and allow you to remove the band. You can use your nail to push the pin.

    • 9

Replace the band. Put it back on the watch by positioning the whole pin and then pushing the interchangeable pin piece into place. Repeat on the other side to complete the strap change.
