      Straighten the ends of the cotter pin holding the propeller in place with needle-nose pliers.

      Pull the cotter pin from the opposite side of the hole with needle-nose pliers.

      Loosen the propeller nut with a Yamaha propeller wrench. Do not remove the nut.

      Slide the propeller off the shaft.
