How to Create Trivia

How to Create Trivia thumbnail
Trivia isn't just for adults. Trivia cards can also be made for bored children.

Trivia is an entertaining game that tests a contestant's knowledge on a variety of subjects. It can be played at a house party, at a bar, on a road trip or even online. You can play with several friends or by yourself. Trivia cards can also be used as a creative method to study for an exam. Though trivia games can be bought at the store, you can save money by creating your own trivia questions with household items.

Instructions

    • 1

Create categories. Some trivia games are specific to one category, but people generally prefer to be quizzed on a variety of subjects. Use different colored note cards to signify different categories. Category topics can include pop culture, history, sports and music. Categories can also be arranged by difficulty.

    • 2

Decide on a question format. You can create multiple choice questions or questions that have no choices. You can also use a combination of those formats in your game.

    • 3

Conduct research. Use encyclopedias, newspapers and online journals to help you create questions.

    • 4

Write the questions on your note cards. On one side write question and on the other side write the answer. When writing the question, try to be concise so that contestants can easily understand the question.

    • 5

Divide contestants into teams. The team that correctly answers the most trivia questions wins the game.

Tips & Warnings

  • The more cards you have, the longer your game can last.

  • If you make all the trivia questions, it may be unfair for you to participate in the game.
