How to Send an SMS Message to Missed Calls

When the cell phone rings, sometimes you are not able to hear it because you may be in a noisy area or the cell phone is on silent or vibrate. Perhaps you simply didn't or couldn't answer the phone at that moment. Missed calls, if the phone is on, will go to a "Missed Call" log on your cell phone. You can scroll through your missed calls and see the person's name if you already have it stored in your cell phone contact list. If not, the person's contact number will appear if it is not stored. You can send an SMS message to the person in the "Missed Call" log without having to access your message application.

  • Open your "Recently Called" list. Depending on your cell phone, there may be three categories of calls: "Outgoing," Incoming" or "Missed." Unlike "Incoming" calls, the "Missed" calls were never answered like the "Incoming" calls.

  • Click on "Missed" calls. Another screen will load with a list of calls that you were unable to answer.

  • Click on the person's name or phone number if the person is not part of your saved contact list. Another screen will load, prompting you to either call back or send a message. Click "Send Message." A text message screen will load with the person's name or number already displayed in the "To" box.

  • Type your SMS message and press "Send" when complete.
