How Do You Charge the Battery on an Olympus Stylus Tough-6000?

The Stylus Tough-6000 is manufactured by Olympus for their Stylus line of digital cameras. The camera is powered by a rechargeable Olympus LI-50B lithium ion battery pack. The battery should be charged before the first use and as needed thereafter. The battery must be removed from the camera and placed in the Olympus LI-50C battery charger for recharging. Once the battery is recharged, it should be slid back into the battery housing unit.

  • Push the battery cover release latch inward to unlock the battery cover. The battery cover hides the battery bay and is located on the bottom of the Olympus Stylus Tough-6000. Once unlocked, slide the battery outward. Once it won't slide any farther, lift it upward to reveal the battery bay.

  • Push the battery lock knob upward or in the direction indicated by the indicator arrow. This will unlock the battery. Once unlocked, gently tilt the camera until the battery slides out of the battery bay.

  • Slide the battery into the battery charger unit. The battery contacts should enter the unit first so they are pressed against the back of the unit. The side of the battery with the word "Olympus" should be facing upward. Once properly inserted, the battery will lie flat inside the battery charging unit.

  • Insert the AC cable into the outlet on top of the battery charging unit. Plug the other end of the AC cable into an electrical outlet. Once plugged into an electrical outlet, the charging indicator light will blink.

  • Unplug the battery charging unit once the battery charging indicator light turns off. This means the battery is fully charged. The process will take approximately two hours if the battery is completely discharged.
