The Honda Element uses two filter elements to catch debris and sediment.

When the blower motor of a 2008 Honda Element circulates air into the vehicle's cabin, it is possible for airborne allergens and other impurities to enter the passenger area. Replacing the Element's cabin air filters can prevent these impurities from entering the cabin and ensure that the air quality in the vehicle remains pure. Replacing the filters takes only a few moments and replacement air filters can be purchased at any Honda dealer or automotive parts store.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the glove compartment and press in the catches on the outside of the glove box on both sides. Pull the glove box all the way down.

    • 2

Open the access door on the filter housing located behind the glove compartment. The door will open to the right by grasping the handle and pulling it away from the air filter housing.

    • 3

Pull out the first filter and discard of it. Slide the remaining filter to the left and pull it out.

    • 4

Push in the first filter and slide it to the right as far as it will go. Insert the second filter. Close the access door by pushing the cover over the opening.

    • 5

Pull the catches for the glove compartment away from the glove compartment. Push the glove compartment back toward the latch. Release the catches and close the glove box.
