How to Use Vitamix to Grind Grains
The Vitamix Company produces a variety of blenders meant to create smoothies, shakes, soups and other blended ingredients. Vitamix machines are available for sale online, in some department stores, and often during in-store demonstrations in some grocery or other retail stores. Foods such as fruit and vegetables are easily blended by a Vitamix machine, but grains can also be ground with the machine by following a few operating instructions. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn off the Vitamix machine and unplug it from the power supply. Open the lid on the top of the machine and set aside.

Lift out the fruit/vegetable blade from the bottom of the Vitamix glass container and base, using caution as the blade is very sharp. Set the grain blade in the base.

Pour 1 and ¾ cups of whole kernel wheat berries or other grains, available at some grocery stores and many natural food and health stores, into the glass container. Note that some Vitamix machines have a separate "Dry Grains Container" for mixing berries, which should be used instead of the primary glass container if available.

Place the lid on the container until the sides are fully latched. Plug the machine back into the power supply and turn the device to "High" speed. Turn the device "Off" when the grains have been ground to the desired consistency.
