A towel bar has three functioning parts. Two base pieces that hang on the wall have a lip that extends into the drywall for extra support. The last piece is the actual bar that hangs between them to hold your towel. Once the base pieces have been installed, they're usually caulked to show a clean finish to the project and adhere the base pieces to the wall. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Cut along the edge of the towel bar bases. Slightly press the edge of the razor blade against the base to keep a straight and clean line.

      Cut through the caulking and into the drywall. You don't have to cut all the way through the drywall as the base pieces are just resting in a snug hole. Cut all the way around both base pieces.

      Pull the base pieces gently toward you. They'll slide out of the drywall, leaving only the holes where they were installed.

  • Always use caution when working with razor blades as they can cause easily cause cuts.
