1
Outline the landscaping area where you want to install the log rolls as an edging. Tap stakes in the ground and run twine from one to another. This will create a straight line. If you prefer a curved line, use spray paint to draw the lines.
-
2
Dig along the twine or paint. You can use a shovel, hoe or hand trowel for this. Make sure the trench you dig stays along the line. The trenches will give the log rolls a bit more stability.

3
Put a level in the trench to make sure the bottom is level. If it isn't, dig farther down to adjust.
-
4
Place a section of the log roll edging in the trench up against the landscaping area.
-
5
Hammer the top of the edging with a rubber mallet just above the built-in stakes. The stakes will hold the edging secure. If it came with loose stakes, there are places on the back for you to slip the stakes in and then hammer them down. After you tap the stakes down, push the dirt up around the edging in the trench to secure it.
