Instructions

    • 1

Drape the room with black fabric or paper as a background. Stick glow-in-the-dark stars on the walls or ceilings.

    • 2

Trace Star Wars-style lettering on gray posterboard to spell out a "Happy Birthday" sign. Cut the letters out and hang them against the black background.

    • 3

Frame posters of outer space or Star Wars space scenes in gray or silver frames. Hang them over the black walls to look like windows out into space.

    • 4

Trim the lettering and poster frames with blue rope lights for a stellar lighting effect, or frame them with activated blue glow sticks.

    • 5

Add some glitz by covering doors and non-party areas with metallic foil party curtains. Put Star Wars character life-sized cardboard cut-outs around the room.

    • 6

Place clusters of balloons around the room. Get black or dark blue latex balloons with stars on them. Throw in a few mylar balloons in the shape of stars, planets, space ships or Star Wars characters.

    • 7

Accessorize with Star Wars toys and merchandise for embellishments. Create a diorama with action figures for a shelf, hang model space crafts from the ceiling, hang glowing light sabers on the walls with the light beams crossed or use a Death Star pinata.

    • 8

Throw a silver or gray tablecloth on the table and set it with Star Wars plates, cups and napkins. Use black plastic cutlery.

    • 9

Make an instant centerpiece with a plush Yoda doll. Seat him on a white or blue pillow in the middle of the table to gaze out at the festivities.
