The Nokia 6500 is a mobile phone created by Nokia Inc. The Nokia 6500 has a camera and flash so you can take pictures during the day and night. You can also use the camera flash of your cell phone as a flashlight by downloading a free program from Ovi Store, Nokia's authorized online store. You can easily keep the Nokia 6500 flash on and use it as a flashlight by following a few steps.

  • Visit Ovi Store by Nokia and register an account. Ovi Store is Nokia's official website for phone applications, maps, media, music, etc.

  • Type in "flashlight" in the search box after creating your account. You will see a list of free programs (see Resources) that will allow you to use your phone's flash as a flashlight. Choose a program and click on the "Send to mobile" button.

  • Enter your cell phone number in the "Send to Mobile" pop-up screen. Ovi Store will send you a text message containing a link to the flashlight application. Wait for the message on your cell phone.

  • Open your message in your Nokia 6500. Open the link and follow the download instructions to install the flashlight application. Make sure your phone is able to access the Internet. Call your service provider to avail of an internet plan if you don't have one or use a Wi-Fi connection. Connect to Wi-Fi with your Nokia 6500 by going to "Menu," "Settings," "Connectivity," then "Wireless LAN."

  • Go to the applications screen on your Nokia 6500 to access the flashlight application. Go to "Menu," then "Applications (name of flashlight application)." Follow the instructions upon launching the flashlight for the first time.
