How to Add a Line Control in Access

Each Access database comes with the option to use forms and reports. The Access form is the form used to input information into the database. The Access report is used to display this information in an organized way. Access controls are used to enhance your database forms and reports. These controls are either functional such as radio buttons or design elements such as line controls. In Access, the line control is frequently used to offset headers and titles from the content.

  • Open Microsoft Access.

  • Right-click the form or report you are modifying. Choose "Design View" from the list of options.

  • Select the "Design" tab. Click the down arrow located in the "Controls" box. This opens up more control options. Select the "line control."

  • Click and drag the line to the appropriate size and position on your form or report.
