If you have paid for a Sky Television subscription, you will want to make the most of it by recording and saving your favorite shows and movies. Sky TV Plus receivers include an integrated digital video recorder, but you may still wish to connect it to an external video or DVD recorder so that you can archive your recordings. Hooking up your standard Sky or Sky Plus receiver to a DVD or video recorder, in addition to your TV set, is easy and there are several connection options to choose from.
Things You'll Need
- 2 Scart leads
- 2 short coaxial leads
Switch off all TV equipment and disconnect it from the AC power supply.
Move your TV set and Sky TV receiver so that you can reach behind them easily.
Connect both devices to the Sky TV receiver with Scart leads. Sky TV receivers have two Scart sockets. Run one Scart lead from your Sky box to the TV set and the other Scart lead from the Sky receiver to the DVD or video recorder.
Connect both devices to the Sky box with a combination of Scart and coaxial leads. Use a Scart lead to connect your Sky TV receiver to your TV set. Use a short coaxial cable to connect your DVD or video recorder to the Sky TV box. Attach one end of the coaxial cable to the jack marked "RF Out" on the Sky box and the other end to the "Input" socket on your DVD or video recorder.
Connect using coaxial leads. Attach one end of the first coaxial cable to the "RF Out" jack on your Sky box and the other end to the "Input" socket on your DVD or video recorder. Connect the second coaxial cable to the "TV" jack on your DVD or video recorder and the "Antenna" socket on your TV set.
