"Amber"-colored roses are roses that come in shades of orange, gold or peach. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Look through rose catalogs or listings with agricultural university extensions or rose organizations such as the American Rose Society for specific names connected with amber-colored roses. Examples of amber-colored rose names include Austrian Copper, Floral Carpet's Amber ground-cover rose or the Voodoo hybrid tea rose. Make a list of all the potential candidates for an amber-colored rose.

    • 2

Research each of the roses that you are considering purchasing. Some rose types require more care than others. For example, Floral Carpet's Amber ground-cover roses are self-cleaning and more resistant to powdery mildew and black spot.

    • 3

Contact your local greenhouse or garden center and ask the staff there if they carry a specific rose cultivar by name. If they do not carry your desired rose, ask if they can order it.

    • 4

Look through catalogs produced by specialty rose growers such as Jackson & Perkins to see if they produce the variety of rose you want. Pay attention to the color of the blossoms that the rose growers advertise. If rose growers don't carry the particular cultivar you're looking for, they may be able to provide you with a similar variety.

    • 5

Check to see if your rose variety is a trademarked variety. Varieties such as Knock Out and Floral Carpet are trademarked. The companies that hold the trademark maintain websites for their product. By searching for the company's product, you can often find a list of local retailers who carry the trademarked rose varieties.
