How to Sterilize Glass Milk Jars
When preparing to use new glass milk jars, you may feel compelled to simply wash the jars in soapy water and continue with use. However, doing so would constitute a huge mistake that could prove hazardous to your health.
When preserving or storing food, it is important to first sterilize the jars in boiling water. Sterilization helps prevent the growth of bacteria that cause serious illness. Simply washing the jars by hand or in a dishwasher will not achieve the level of heat needed to rid your jars of these bacteria.
