Bionaire Humidifier Cleaning Instructions

A humidifier can make your home more comfortable.

If you own a Bionaire humidifier, you should follow a regular cleaning schedule to prevent growth of undesirable materials within the unit. A relatively simple cleaning process is recommended by the company, especially if your humidifier has been stored away. The right cleaning method will keep mold and mildew from gathering on and inside of the humidifier, which could get released into the air and lead to potential respiratory problems. Following this process can help your humidifier function safer and more effectively, and will help it last longer.

Things You'll Need

• White vinegar

Instructions

Daily Cleaning

1. Turn off and unplug your Bionaire humidifier.

2. Take out the tank. Empty the water inside and rinse it out once.

3. Dry the tank thoroughly with a towel before replacing it.

4. Plug the humidifier back into the power source and turn it back on.

Weekly Cleaning

1. Turn off and unplug your Bionaire humidifier.

2. Remove dust and debris from the water sensor and nebulizer, using the brush that came with your Bionaire humidifier.

3. Remove the tank and empty it. Add 1 oz. of undiluted white vinegar to the tank, swish it around and let it sit for several minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Dry and replace it in the humidifier.

4. Fill the transducer area with a few ounces of undiluted white vinegar to remove built-up residue. Let it soak for about 20 minutes. Rinse the area and dry with a towel.

5. Fill the tank, plug the humidifier back in and turn it back on.
