How Can I Block a Website From Being Visited by My Son?
People block websites from being viewed on their computers because they want to avoid spammers as well as adware and pop-ups. In the case of parents, they block certain websites to eliminate the risk of their children being exposed to undesirable content. Many parents will block sites that are based around adult concepts in an effort to protect their children. Blocking websites can be done from your desktop and will be effective in blocking the sites that you specify.

Click the "Start" button on your desktop. Under the "Start" button, click on "Accessories."

Click on "Command Prompt." This will be located under "Accessories." A DOS command window will open.

Input information to the command window. Type in "notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts."

Locate the line that says "127.0.0.1 localhost"

Add the sites that you want to block. Under the line that says "127.0.0.1 localhost," you will add the sites that you want to block in the correct format. Any site you wish to block will have to have the prefix "127.0.0.1 localhost" before it. For example, to block Yahoo!, it will read:
127.0.0.1 yahoo.com
127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com

Tips & Warnings
You can block as many sites as you want as long as they are formatted correctly.
This method can be easily reversed by children if they know how you blocked the websites, as they can delete the information to remove the block.
