How to Prevent Frozen Gutters
Leaves and other debris can clog gutters and cause problems, especially during the winter. When water gets trapped in a gutter in cold weather, it freezes and cannot properly drain, creating an "ice dam." When this happens, water can seep into the house. Fortunately, you can take some preventative measures to protect your gutters and your home. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove refuse from your gutter. Remove leaves, sticks and other debris that has collected in the gutter.

2
Install a "Gutter Guard." Measure the gutter and cut the guard according to the necessary measurements. Slide one section under the bottom shingles of your roof and the other side over the edge of the gutter. Snap it on tightly.
