Where are your old high school friends now?

High school can bring back good memories. And while it may seem like eons since you attended, there are always those individuals that you'll never forget. It could have been a best friend, the class clown or just about anyone from that half-child, half-adult stage in your life. It's normal to wonder about how your old classmates are doing in life, if they're the same and how much they've grown. Finding former high school classmates is not as difficult as it used to be, thanks to the Internet.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign up for a classmate website. There are scores of them out there. Some of the most popular are Classmates, Grad Finder and All High Schools. You search by entering your high school name and graduation year. Another useful website is MyLife. While not solely designed as a classmate website, MyLife is structured to find all long-lost friends and acquaintances---including those from high school .

    • 2

Search social network sites. MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn all have the ability to search users by their name and high school they attended. When you do connect with your former classmates, you can message them directly through the site. And, it's possible that they have contact information for other high school friends in your search.

Contact your school's reunion committee and alumni association. The reunion committee tries to keep updated information on all past students. If you contact them, they may be able to assist you in your search. The alumni body consists of prior students, so there's a chance that one of your high school classmates may be on the board or someone in the association can put you in contact with old high school friends.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although most of the classmate websites allow you to search for free, many of them charge membership fees that must be paid before you can initiate or receive messages.
