How to Use a Sylvania G Netbook

The Slyvania G netbook is a small, compact version of a laptop computer, but the screen is a smaller size and there is no optical drive (CD/DVD drive). It is designed to work best with basic email and travel documents, although you may run many of the same programs on your Windows-based netbook as you do a standard desktop or laptop computer system.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Power" button on the keyboard (directly under the screen) to power on the Sylvania G netbook.

    • 2

Click "Start," then "All Programs," and all the installed programs display on the screen. Load one of the programs by clicking the program's tab.

    • 3

Exit the program by clicking the red "X" icon in the upper-right corner of the program window.

    • 4

Install new software by downloading the program from its website. (You can't install from a CD because there is no CD drive.) Once the program has downloaded to the computer, double-click the downloaded file, then follow the prompts of the installation wizard that loads onto the screen to install the software.

    • 5

Shut down the netbook by clicking "Start," then "Shut Down."
