Bluetooth is a hardware component installed on your PC and controlled by software and a driver. There are several different ways you can disable the Bluetooth software on a Toshiba Toughbook. There are also different software programs you can use to control the Bluetooth hardware piece in case you are having problems with the current configuration.

      Open the Start menu, choose "All Programs," then "Startup." Right-click on the Bluetooth Manager and delete it.

      Reboot the computer. If Bluetooth still comes on automatically, continue to the next step.

      Right-click on the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. Choose "Options," "IT Admin," "IT Security settings," "Settings" and "Limit Bluetooth" settings.

      Select "Turn off Bluetooth function on exiting Bluetooth Manager" and "Do not register Bluetooth Manager on startup."

Tips & Warnings

  • For more advanced users, disable to Toshiba Bluetooth controller by uninstalling it and using Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.

  • Take notice of the settings you change in case you want to turn them back on.
