The factory-installed radio in the 2004 Honda CRV disables itself if it is disconnected from electrical power, such as when the vehicle has a dead battery. To restore operation to the radio, a five-digit code must be entered. Each CRV has a unique code that was printed on a card that came with the car when it was new. If you do not have the card, you can obtain the code number from a Honda dealer.

  • If you mistakenly enter the wrong code, do not start over. Complete the five digit sequence, then enter the correct code. You are allowed 10 attempts to enter the right code, after which you must leave the radio on for 1 hour to reset and try again.
