Purchase a barbecue rotisserie from your gas grill's manufacturer. Your manual should specify which barbecue rotisserie works properly with your gas grill model. Some grill retailers carry additional barbecue rotisseries that also work with your grill model.

Assemble your barbecue rotisserie according to the instructions provided with it. Assembly typically requires attaching the motor bracket to the rotisserie shaft with a few screws and attaching the motor to the motor bracket. Use a screwdriver to tighten all provided screws.

Open the lid to your gas grill. Set the barbecue rotisserie on the rotisserie support block. The barbecue rotisserie, depending your model, typically sits on top of two notches on each side of the gas grill. The barbecue rotisserie sits suspended and centered between the grill hood and the burners with the motor outside of the grill.

Remove gas grill grates when cooking large portions of meat.
Motorized barbecue rotisseries can turn up to approximately 20 lbs. of food.
Plug the rotisserie into a grounded electrical outlet.
Keep the rotisserie cord away from hot surfaces.
