How to Set a Motorola Droid Outgoing Calls to Private

Save

The Motorola Droid from Verizon is a smartphone with many capabilities that normal cell phones do not have. One thing the Droid does share in common with other phones, though, is the "call blocking" feature that blocks your number. Call blocking makes your number appear as "Private" when you call phones that have a caller ID. You can temporarily or permanently set your Droid's outgoing calls to private.

Temporarily Set Your Droid's Outgoing Calls to Private

  • Press the power button on top of the Droid. Slide the lock icon to the right to unlock the screen.

  • Touch the "Phone" icon.

  • Dial "*82" without the quotation marks and then dial the number you want to call. Your number will appear as "Private" or "Private caller."

Permanently Set Your Droid's Outgoing Calls to Private

  • Visit the Verizon Wireless website (see Resources). Click "My Verizon." Enter your Verizon user ID and password and click "Sign in."

  • Click "My Plan." Select "Add/change features."

  • Click the check-box next to "Caller ID Blocking."

  • Click "Next" to save your options. All calls made from your Droid will appear as "Private" or "Private caller."
