Troubleshooting a Philips flat screen TV is a moderately easy do-it-yourself project. Problems which can be fixed without the help of a service technician include TV settings and connections. If it's a simple issue, troubleshooting your Philips flat screen TV will take less than an hour.
Things You'll Need
- Remote control
- Lint-free cloth
Unplug the power cable from the Philips 32PF9630 and blow off any dust and dirt on the plug prongs. Remove the power cord from the back of the TV and blow off any dirt. Plug it back in on the bottom left side of the Philips 32PF9630. Check your breaker or fuse box to make sure power to the Philips TV's outlet is on. Replace the fuse if blown. If you find that the breaker has been tripped, flip the switch on.
Replace both batteries in the Philips remote control if the TV isn't responsive. The TV remote specifically made for the 32PF9630 can be purchased from most stores which sell electronics.
Check that the aerial connection on the right side of the Philips 32PF9630 isn't loose. Gently push it back in if you find it is. Wipe off any dirt fromt the two HDMI slots on the bottom right of the TV. Press down on the two scart connections in the middle of the TV; if they move you will need to contact a service technician to get them replaced.
Move the aerial antenna from your Philips 32PF9630 to higher ground away from the TV. Make sure it is away from any electrical items which can disrupt the signal.
Clean the TV with a lint-free cloth. This can help prevent future problems. Make sure to clean the two vents on top of the TV and the series of buttons on the right.
