How to Get the Mothball Smell Out of an Older Mobile Home
Mothballs sometimes keep bugs and rodents away, making them popular for use in the home. If you have an older mobile home, this is a small area that can quickly capture and hold in that mothball smell. When the smell becomes overbearing you find yourself in a situation where you want to quickly and effectively remove the mothball odor. Open all of the windows in the mobile home. If possible, leave the windows open for several days until the odor dissipates.

Place fans throughout the mobile home, turned on and pointing out a window. This assists in air circulation and ventilation.

Sprinkle baking soda over all carpeting in the home, let it sit overnight and vacuum the following day. Also, sit small bowls with about 1/2 cup each of baking soda around the mobile home to assist in the odor absorption.

Freshen the air with a spray bottle full of vinegar. Spray around the home, onto carpets and upholsteries. The vinegar is another deodorizer that eliminates the mothball smell, and the vinegar odor goes away quickly.
