Having a tan makes most people look better. It gives them a healthy glow, and naturally slims the body. However it can take a while to build up a good tan, especially if the weather is unreliable. To speed things along, you can use fake tanner and sun beds to help you on your way to a golden glow.

Exfoliate thoroughly before you apply fake tan. In the bath or shower, apply exfoliater and scrub yourself with a loofah. This will scrub off the top few layers of skin, and will help make your tan last.

Moisturize your body before applying fake tan to minimize streaks. Pay particular attention to dry parts of your skin like your elbows and ankles, as they are most likely to streak.

Use a self tanner designed for "medium to dark" skin, if you want really fast results. This produces a deeper color and takes a shorter time to build up a real glow.

Apply the fake tan from your feet upwards in a circling motion. Try to do it before bed so you have the nighttime for the tan to develop.

Visit a tanning salon and book a sun bed for a few minutes. Tell the people who work there about your skin type, and they will be able to tell you how long you need. Sun beds are much stronger than the sun, so only a few minutes can make you burn. Visit the salon once or twice a week to build a deep tan.

Moisturize every day to help maintain your tan and to stop your skin shedding.
