You can register with Chevrolet online to ensure you are up-to-date on the latest information about both the company and your specific Chevy vehicle. Registering with Chevrolet will keep your warranty up-to-date and ensure you receive emails regarding recalls and other important information.

Step 1

Go to the General Motors Owner Center website (see Resources) and click the blue button that reads "Sign In / Sign Up." Click "Continue" on the pop-up screen that informs you that you are leaving GM's official site and going to the Yahoo-hosted GM Owner Center.

Step 2

Sign into Yahoo using your current Yahoo email account. If you do not have a Yahoo ID, register with Yahoo by clicking the "Sign up" link at the bottom of the sign in box and filling out the forms provided to you by Yahoo.

Step 3

Read and accept Yahoo's terms and conditions for the GM Owner site. Fill out the form that requests your name and address, then click the link to look up your vehicle. Add your specific Chevrolet vehicle by its VIN. Your VIN is listed on the title of your car, on a plate on the dashboard and also in the paperwork that you received when you bought it. You can also add your vehicle using its year, make and model but this is a generic registration that does not send you recall information or allow you to register for accounts for your other GM options, such as Onstar and the rewards program.

Step 4

Add all your vehicles by their VINs. Click the link at the bottom of the page that allows you to finish your registration and save your information. You are now registered with General Motors and Chevrolet.
