Houdini Wine Cork Opener Instructions

Houdini Wine Cork Opener Instructions thumbnail
Houdini wine openers are modern styles and use a lever to pull the cork.

Houdini wine openers are automatic wine openers that remove the cork from the bottle without breaking the cork and getting chunks of cork in the wine during the opening process. A regular, manual wine opener requires twisting the opener into the cork and trying to wiggle the cork out, which can result in a cork that is broken into tiny pieces and makes a mess. The Houdini wine openers are easy to use and do not have the potential for a mess. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the lever up to put it into position. The basic motion of opening the cork is simple, but the lever always starts in the up position.

    • 2

Place the bottle under the cork screw so that it is between the grips. Close the two sides of the opener to hold the bottle in place.

    • 3

Press the lever down. This will cause the cork screw to enter the cork. Press the lever all the way down so that it will firmly catch the cork.

    • 4

Pull the lever up. The cork will come out of the wine bottle without leaving parts of the cork in the wine. Open the sides holding the wine bottle in place and remove the wine bottle.

    • 5

Remove the cork from the cork screw. The exact removal will vary slightly, but usually it either requires pressing the lever so that it goes in the opposite direction from the cork or removing it manually.
