Make a Warm Fuzzy

A warm fuzzy is a cute little craft that can be made with a few inexpensive items that can be found at most craft stores. They are small, round and fuzzy, and they can be made in any color you choose. Warm fuzzies can be given to friends or used to decorate for a child's birthday party. You can use them in place of bows on top of wrapped gifts or gift bags by taping their feet directly to the package with clear tape.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a small pompom, 1 to 2 inches wide, in any color. This will be the head of the warm fuzzy. Most craft stores have them in many different colors and sizes. One pompom makes one warm fuzzy, so you will need more if you are making more than one.

    • 2

Glue two wiggly eyes, side-by-side, onto the pompom. The eyes should be much smaller than the pompom to be proportionate.

    • 3

Draw two feet on the bottom side of the felt. They can be any shape you choose, such as human feet or bird feet. The fuzzy side will be the top of the feet. If your felt piece is fuzzy on both sides, make sure the side you draw on is facing down when you attach it to the pompom. Drawing the feet close together, as one piece, will make it easier to cut. Together the feet should measure the same width as the pom-pom. Cut the feet out using scissors, then place one drop of glue on the center of the feet and attach it to the bottom of the pompom.

    • 4

Cut 8 to 10 pieces of yarn, each measuring 2 inches long. Glue one end of each piece of yarn to the top of the pompom to give it hair. You can use one color or several colors.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a warm fuzzy worm, glue 3 pompoms together in a row, then glue wiggly eyes to one end. Attach feet to the bottom of each pompom.
