How to Ship with UPS & FedEx

Worldwide shipping has never been easier with such companies as UPS and FedEx. International and national shipping can be organized simply and quickly using your online account to provide fast shipping to your chosen destination. If you are a trader, you can keep your customers happy with a first class parcel service delivered straight to their doors within days and even hours. Both UPS and FedEx offer expedited shipping to get your goods to their buyers in super quick time. Sending items with UPS and FedEx requires setting up an account.

      Set up a UPS account by submitting a written request to its head office. You will receive information from UPS regarding your account details and your billing schedule. Once this is established, you can set up a weekly bill and charge shipping directly to your account.

      Access your account using the MyUPS ID that you receive. Registering for MyUPS will give you a point of entry for your entire UPS account and functions. Input your name, User ID, email address and password to activate the MyUPS account.

      Prepare your shipment by printing your shipping label. You will need Internet access and a good printer. All packaging supplies are sent to you by UPS and you can order more online, using MyUPS. The labels you are sent by UPS will be placed in the printer. Fill out the details of the shipping address and the client name. Print the labels and stick them on the appropriate packages.

      Select the shipping option by choosing, "Next Day Air" or "Fragile" or any other appropriate option of your choosing. If you are unsure which option is better for your shipment, click the "Compare Service Options" button next to the "Service" button, select option window in section 4---How would you like to ship?

      Send your package by ordering a pick-up service from UPS, or dropping the shipment at your local UPS drop center. If your nearest center is inconvenient UPS will collect your shipment if you select that option. Once your package is shipped, you can track its progress using the UPS tracking reference number.

    Shipping with FedEx

      Open a FedEx account online. This only takes a few moments and you will need to answer a few questions and input some details regarding your name, business, address and email address.

      Input the details for the shipping address for your recipient and print the label. You will receive free shipping labels and packaging from FedEx upon opening your account. Adhere the shipping label to your packages. FedEx offers packing supplies for all nature of parcels, from envelopes, boxes, tubes and clinical packs, to packing peanuts and tape. FedEx advises that customers use FedEx packaging when possible. Alternatively, you can use corrugated plain boxes, which must be in good condition.

      Drop your packages at the local FedEx drop center or apply for a FedEx pick up online. FedEx will call and collect your shipment from the specified address and take it directly to its depot for distribution.

      Track your FedEx shipments by using the tracking number provided when you printed your shipping labels. You can access the tracking system online at the FedEx website.
