How to Add Permission to Everyone in HKCU Software for Windows XP
Windows XP holds the majority of the configuration information for the operating system inside the registry, which is a hierarchical database of settings information. If errors are displayed that indicate a permissions issue in the registry, temporarily adding the "Everyone" Windows user group to the HKCU Software permissions may help in finding a solution to the issue.
